How To Create Affirmations That Will Change Your Life

Have you been struggling to achieve your goals and create the life of your dreams? I want to share one of my favorite tools that have the power to change your life, creating affirmations.

I love saying affirmations! It is one of my favorite tools to help manifest things in my life. I know they are popular in the personal development space, so I wanted to bring forth the way I use affirmations that have proved to work well for my life and my clients.

So, why is it important to create affirmations?

I found that when I create my affirmations, it is more effective in creating positivity in my life and helping me achieve my goals. Affirmations are a great way to manifest things into your life.

For more tips on manifestation you should check out my blog post, My Favourite Manifestation Tool.

Affirmations are everywhere. You can find generic affirmations all over social media that say things like I am beautiful, I am strong, my business is a success.

I find these affirmations are too vague.

Affirmations should speak to your specific goals in limiting beliefs.

If you create ones that are specific to you, they can be more helpful and productive for your growth.

They are related to what you are looking to grow in your life, and they have more of an emotional connection to you.

How To Create Your Affirmations

1. Create Affirmations Based On Your Goals

I love creating affirmations that include my goals. Anything that I can do to stay focused, speak them into reality, and work with the law of attraction is so beneficial.

The first thing to do is to define your goals and write them as an affirmation.

When you write an affirmation, there are a few things you want to focus on,

  • Write in the present tense

  • Make them as simple as possible

  • Be as specific as possible

Some good examples of goal-specific affirmations are, I am so grateful for 5 figure months in my business, or I am so grateful to weigh 130 pounds.

2. Create Affirmations Related To Things You Want To Improve

For this step, grab a pen and paper, with your goals in mind, and write the following I am choosing to release the following limiting beliefs.

Write down things that are stopping you from achieving your goals.

Some examples could be self-doubt or lack of energy.

Once you come up with a few things that are getting in the way of you achieving your goals, grab a different piece of paper.

This is where you will write your new affirmations. Write down the opposite of what you wrote on the first piece of paper with your limiting beliefs.

For example, what is the opposite of self-doubt? Self-confidence.

You could write this affirmation as I embody self-confidence.

Lack of energy could be changed to I am always energized.

You are reframing your limiting beliefs into affirmations that will help you achieve your goals.

Go through this process with all of your limiting beliefs.

Make sure that you release the limiting beliefs that you originally wrote down.

You can do this by ripping up and throwing away the paper you wrote them on or deleting the note on your phone.

3. Repeat Them Daily

Keep the new affirmations in a significant place, whether it's in a journal or on your phone.

The most important part is to say them daily.

Make a habit out of saying your affirmations daily.

Here is a little bonus tip, if you are starting this as a new habit, piggy pack your new habit on one that you already have.

For example, when you brush your teeth every morning, say your affirmations after.

To summarize, creating specific affirmations is more effective than using generic ones. When you are writing them, your first affirmations should be about your goals so you can speak them into reality.

Write them in the present tense and make sure they are specific and concise.

When you are looking to create affirmations start by writing down your limiting beliefs, use the opposite and affirm them with your custom affirmations that you will say daily by piggybacking them onto a routine that already exists in your life.

I hope this helped you create some affirmations and change in your life!

Let me know in the comments some affirmations you created!

Stay tuned every Tuesday at 4 PM EST for a new blog post!

Much love,
